If one or both of the pumps begin performing unusually, carefully observing the system in operation can help determine the appropriate diagnostic tests to perform. While observing, make a note of the following:

Whether the system initializes successfully when powered on.
Whether the pumps make any noise during initialization.
If excess pump noise occurs during pump drawing, pushing, or both drawing and pushing.
If excess pump noise only occurs during certain actions, such as "Add Sample," "Rinse," or pushing to SPE cartridge/disk.

Type 1 - Initialization Error
